Overviews of the museums and events

Here are four different overviews of the museums and events that accumulated recently and have no attached walkarounds to them.  The two event overviews are Tankfest Northwest 2015 that went on at Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, WA and Mojave Airport Open House 2013.  The two museum overviews are USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, HI and  Fly’N’ Wheels automotive museum in Torrance, CA.

Aircraft from around San Francisco Bay Area

Here are four aircraft photographed in various times in various locations of San Francisco Bay Area.  The Ford 5-AT-B Tri-Motor was photographed in Hayward, CA during the EAA visit to that airport.  The General Motors FM-2 Wildcat was photographed on board USS Hornet in Alameda, CA.  A very early Douglas A4D-1 Skyhawk is a gate-guard at the former NAS Alameda.  And finally the Lockheed ER-2 (NASA version of the U-2) was shot at Moffett Air Museum in Sunnyvale, CA.

F-14s

This post is dedicated to one of the most distinctive naval fighters of all time – F-14.  We’ve added two walkarounds of the aircraft itself – one of the early production YF-14A Tomcat from March Field Air Museum in Riverside, CA and a regular F-14A Tomcat from USS Hornet in Alameda, CA.  We’ve also posted photos of the two weapons used by the F-14 –  AIM-9M Sidewinder and  AIM-7M Sparrow, both from the F-14 on board the USS Hornet.
